Ford has been the only major automaker not to file for bankruptcy. This year they earned $997 million, or 20 cents a share.

Ford did not file for bankruptcy this year due to a bump in sales from the Cash for Clunkers programs and problems at its U.S. rivals. This caused them to have a surprise profit for the third quarter.

Ford, as an american car company, doesn't have as many problems after all. Surprisingly they have shown an increasingly earn instead of the loss compared to last year.
